I put this bird thing in a tree, but it was clearly meant for real birds. I let it rest, but it looked vulnerable and lonely. So I’m making it a home, and a makeover, and a completely different thing. Hopefully everything should be dry in the morning x.
While I was looking for Doris Salcedo’s name I came across this site. Maybe everyone else already knows it: Daily Serving. I was particularly drawn to this guy, below, I like the idea of making work to show in a specific way. Apparently the sculptures are never actually seen, only these photographs.
I haven’t yet looked into what its about, but It made me think about making something to rest on, while you sort out what youre thinking.
Ive always wanted to do that x.
I don’t think the floors of Ikea are meant to look like Doris Salcedo’s work.
I know this looks kinda nasty but I really like this. The fingers are meant to be like wings, I drew them for my dad cause I really think he would like to fly. I genuinely always feel like Im going somewhere with all these drawings, but they all end up looking kinda aeshthetic. Hmmm x.
I have a million things to tell you about today. Mainly because I haven’t done this in a few days, firstly my boyfriends exhibition opening was on Friday!!! The two above are two of my favourite photos, you shouldhave seen the sun on it, it looked amazing. Have a look at the course blog to see everyones work. It really looked amazing on the night.
Secondly, look how amazing this picture of my mum is. She looks so funky and like . . . glowly. I wanna look like this, thats my new goal. My mum says she remembers this photo being taken at my grandparents house and my granny being mildly disgruntled about my mums fashion choices, maybe she didn’t like her wearing leggings instead of a skirt.
Thirdly, I made an amazing Banana Bread today. I was all chuffed cause it smelt amazing and I hadn’t burnt it. But when I took in out of the tin, the bottom didn’t wanna leave.
Oh well. I’ll make another one when I get paid.
Number four, Im gonna add some more wee drawings to the wee drawings page as soon as I find the lead for my camera x.
I went round the Duncan Of Jordanstone Degree Show twice this weekend. Once with my boyfriend on the opening night when it was really busy and we hardly saw anything properly. And once with my friend Julie when it was nice, relaxed and quiet. We saw everything, well bits of it x.
